Welcoming Dr. Amir Gendy
We are proud to announce that Dr. Amir Gendy has joined the Department of Surgery at NYU Winthrop as a Trauma attending. Dr. Gendy is Board Certified in both general surgery and surgical critical care.
Dr. Gendy graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and also received his Master Degree of General Surgery (MSurg) from The Alexandria Faculty of Medicine in Egypt. He then completed his Residency and a Research Fellowship at Alexandria Main University Hospital and Hospital for Children in Egypt. He then came to the United States where he started his preliminary residency at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine and his categorical residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, both in New York. Dr. Gendy then completed a Research Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center of New York, Pediatric Surgery Tumor Biology Lab, Feinstein Institute for Medical Research at Hofstra/LIJ. This was followed by an Adult & Pediatric Surgical Critical Care & Trauma Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
